Cluster Ban Champion Togo Will Carry Message to Costa Rica Meeting

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Togo emphasized the country's strong support for the Convention on Cluster Munitions during a Tuesday press conference organized together with the Cluster Munition Coalition in advance of the Fifth Meeting of States Parties beginning next week in Costa Rica.

"We should all be proud of the clear progress [under the Convention]. But while stocks of these weapons still exist, there is still the risk they will be used in the future and still more innocent lives will be lost," said Togolese CMC member, Félix Kokou Aklavon.
