National campaign launch: Slovakia urged to ban cluster bombs

Amnesty International Slovakia is launching a national campaign to urge Slovakia to sign the Convention on Cluster Munitions. The campaign will be launched with a press conference on 3 September and followed by lobby visits and public actions (a postcard campaign to the Minister of Foreign Affairs). Check out their campaign website here: http://www.stopkazetovymbombam.skContact: Ms. Martina Mazurova, kampane@amnesty.sk, +421-2-544-19660TAKE ACTION: Download the template letter and send it to Slovakia's Foreign Minister and Defence Minister urging Slovakia to sign the Convention!Action_Letter_SlovakiaABOUT SLOVAKIA: Slovakia produces and stockpiles cluster bombs. It is one of just a few EU and NATO countries that has not yet signed the Convention. Slovakia participated in the Oslo Process from the outset and adopted the Convention at the end of the negotiations in Dublin, but consistently expressed reservations about the process and the Convention text.
